The Lusophone Studies Association (LSA) is an interdisciplinary academic association dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of scholarly and related research about the Lusophone world. The association’s main objectives
are:
- Promote scholarly debate and exchange relating to the Lusophone influence and presence in Canada and elsewhere;
- Promote public awareness of the Lusophone legacy and influence in Canada and elsewhere;
- Promote and support educational efforts in the area of Luso-Canadian and international Luso studies;
- Co-operate with related associations and research institutes concerned with the study of the Lusophone studies in Canada, as well as internationally;
- Maintain contact and exchanges with academic and community associations having complementary interests and objectives;
- Provide material for publication, conference proceedings, and bibliographies;
- Organize and promote regular conferences, symposia, workshops, and community meetings;
- Promote Lusophone Studies undergraduate and graduate education initiatives in Canada and internationally;
- Promote Lusophone Studies community education initiatives in Canada and internationally
